We hope everyone had a good long weekend and a happy 4th of July!  Hopefully, no-one blew their hand off.

Danny Cross, a writer for CityBeat, recently reported on a energy bill that was killed. I find his humor entertaining. And I quote:

“A new wide-ranging energy plan proposed by Democrats is dead now because Senate Republicans killed it. According to ABC News, Democrats proposed the “Consumer-First Energy Act” to give the Attorney General the right to sue OPEC and force U.S. energy companies to invest in renewable energy, but Republicans wouldn’t vote for it because they want to tell OPEC to fuck off and then drill for more oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve. Democrats would prefer that other countries dig up their own land but are having difficulty countering the Republican arguement that all the polar bears are going to die soon anyway.”

*sigh*

David and I are excited about putting our current house on the market and building a new bigger house with Ryland Homes.  We are getting the Burton H elevation and cannot wait!

Shawn has been with us for four months and though we have had our ups and downs, he’s been doing well and we are happy with the progress.  He’s a happy helper.  =)

Our first meeting went well.  =)  

Shawn seems like a genuine kid and I think we will get along great.  We have our second meeting again Thursday.  We are spending a full two hours and it’s in the gym.  Let’s hope we don’t completely look like idiots.

Our first meeting with Shawn is Friday and we are very excited about it!  We have been told we get to play Wii with him for an hour.  I’m really hoping I can restrain my competitiveness.  Well, I’m sure it won’t be God of War or anything.  *wink*

David and I have been selected for Shawn!  He’s from Kentucky and is 8 years old.  We are really excited about getting to see him and hopefully everything will go through ok.  We should be meeting with the case-worker and her supervisor sometime this week.  Wish us luck!
